In the Fall of 2018, Google began testing a new feature in Google My Business that allowed business owners to add products to their profile. Google has been slowly pushing this feature out live to more companies, and it appears to finally be available to a widespread audience, especially car dealers.
Google’s rationale behind placing more detail in search results is typically to provide more, better information to consumers on the first page. They want a shopper to instantly be able to see search results, business hours, location, images, and now which products and product categories a business offers.
Based upon feedback and creative suggestions from TradePending customers, we now support the ability to create a “Trade-In” product within Google My Business. Someone browsing the search results can now receive a trade-in report within seconds, while your team receives a new lead. This value-add service comes at no additional charge to TradePending Trade customers.
Here’s how the user experience flows:
Shopper searches for “Jenkins Chevrolet of Venice” on Google.
As he/she scrolls down the page, the shopper sees the product listings.
When the user clicks on that product, they’re presented with a pop-up to Learn More.
When the user clicks on this product, they’re taken directly to your custom trade-in landing page, powered by TradePending.
Here’s another example from Hendrick Honda of Charlotte.
This simple addition to your digital marketing toolkit is an easy way to optimize your Google My Business results and boost your search engine optimization.
